Pearl Harbor - USS Arizona
Today we decided to visit Pearl Harbor. I can't think of any other way to describe it other than reverent and serene. It reminded me of the feelings I have at Liberty and Carthage Jail. What is really inspiring it that the memorial was designed to focus on serenity and introspect rather than sadness. It was amazing, I can't believe I was finally able to come.
This is the second gun turret of the USS Arizona. I couldn't believe how much of the ship you can see. A silhouette of the entire ship is visible from the air.

Visiting Pearl Harbor is on my bucket list. Along with walk on the Great Wall, watch the fireworks over the Statue of Liberty, see a shuttle launch, etc... I'm totally jealous. But yeah, if you look at pearl harbor on google earth you can completely see the ship. It is crazy to think how many ships were sunk in the harbor with how enormous they are. I wonder how they ever maneuvered the ships out that weren't sunk. I bet you trip has been amazing. Don't forget the Polynesian cultural center. I know the guys who run it and the main fire knife dancers. Too bad I'm not their with ya, I could get ya the hook up.
Have fun. By the way you look great in your pictures Ali. (you too quinn wink, wink)
That shot you have of the flag out of the Arizona memorial is gorgeous! Nice one.
